Registering for Professional Access to NMBCC Data

Professional access is granted to those who register with NMBCC with a verified email address. You need not be strictly a "professional" in order to obtain professional access to NMBCC data. Students and members of the public are also welcome to apply for professional access. All users of NMBCC data, however, should be familiar with and adhere to the restrictions on use for NMBCC data.

Registration allows us to track individual usage of the site including searches, page hits and downloads. This information will be used to monitor and refine the functionality of the site and will be used to develop summary information concerning site usage. Information concerning downloads may be shared with the curators, collection managers, and other personnel of the collections whose records were downloaded. Personal information gathered during registration will not be used for any other purpose and will not be distributed outside of NMBCC.

To register, click on the Register link on the upper right of any NMBCC page. Fill in the required information including email address, first and last name. You must enter and verify a password that will be required to access your account. Please store this password in a safe location. You may reset this password through the My Account link that becomes available once you have registered or from the Sign-In page.

Please include a short statement of your interest for registering in the Reason for Using NMBCC box and include your affiliation if your interest is professional or educational (i.e., you are at an agency, school, or consulting firm). This information will be supplied to collection managers in the event you apply for collaborator access to their collection. Click the HTML Email box if your email program can read html.

After you have filled in all fields and clicked the OK button an email will be sent to you with an activation link. Click this link (if you have checked the HTML Email box) or cut and paste the link into your browser to activate your registration. Once your account is activated you may sign-in to your NMBCC account.

You can change your personal information at any time through the My Profile tab of the My Account page.
